Cocoon - original drypoint etching

Description

This is an original drypoint etching - illustrated, etched and printed by hand. This print is one of a very limited edition of four. The image itself is part of a series of four illustrations in my "Protection" series - all four - cocoon, nest, web and shell are available separately in my store.

These prints illustrate the vulnerability of humans by offering an imperfect substitute to some of the built-in defence mechanisms animals and insects possess to protect themselves from threats. We possess the same animal instincts and needs, but lack the ability to provide our own camouflage, cocoon or nest so self-sufficiently.

The printed image is 8.5 x 6" (22 x 15cm), the paper size is 7 x 10" (18 x 25cm).

Print will be shipped flat, well protected by plastic and stiff cardboard.
