Vintage Japanese kimono juban in ivory silk with handpainted sunflowers
Description
Juban are are the under layer of a kimono ensemble, not quite as long as a kimono so it does not need to be folded at the waist as kimono are. A juban on its own can more easily be worn as a house robe than a kimono due to its shorter length. All of my vintage Japanese garments have been hand sewn unless specified otherwise. Dry clean only, please!
---------About this garment----------
This silk juban is in very good condition and likely dates from the early to mid-20th century (Showa era). Bright sunflowers have been hand dyed over the fabric before it was sewn together. Aside from a few small stains (mostly on the cotton lining and a pink stain on the back, see picture #5), this juban is really in beautiful condition, ready to wear or display. This is one of the most unique juban I've ever seen!
---------Measurements---------
Wrist to wrist: 48.5" (123 cm)
Sleeve length: 18.75" (48 cm)

This will comfortably fit a woman 5' 6" or shorter with an average build. If you are taller, the sleeves may be very short for you.
