Blue Dichroic Butterfly Fused Glass Necklace
Description
A fused glass pendant with a blue/green dichroic butterfly fused into the cobalt blue glass is the focal of this modern necklace. A thin piece of dichroic slide was cut into the butterfly shape and fused completely into the surface of the glass(it will not scratch off without serious work, probably including sandpaper). In the light the pattern shifts from blue to green, subtly reflecting and refracting the light.The measurements of the pendant are roughly 3/4ths of an inch square and 1/8th of an inch thick. A piece of high temperature wire has been fused into the back and partially covered with glass to act as the bail. The diameter of the loop is roughly 1/4th of an inch. The pendant hangs from a 19 inch long 3mm wide "velvet" cord, including an inch of chain to which the lobster clasp can be attached.
