ABSTRACT
Looking for that perfect gift for a runner or distance walker? Carrying ID is a difficult problem for a runner. Wallets can fall out of pockets, and when was the last time you saw a runner with a purse?

Let me create a custom ID tag with their name and phone number, to attach to their running shoe. After all, you can't run without shoes. (OK, well, some people can.)

No one wants to think about an emergency situation, but if one happens, it's critical to make sure the runner/walker can be identified.

The tag attaches to the top shoelace - when you lace up the shoe, feed the tag onto the lace through the two holes at the top. Once the shoe is laced up, the tag will stay on securely.

You can also wear this yourself as a pendant or use it as a keychain/key fob or for your child's backpack, with whatever text you want on it, up to 2 lines. Let's work together to create the design.

MATERIALS AND METHODS
A handcut piece of sturdy nickel silver sheet is hand stamped with steel stamps, filed to remove sharp edges, then oxidized and polished to bring out the letters and make them easier to read from a distance. The metal is hammered for strength and will not easily bend, and has a lovely brushed finish to resist scratches.

Nickel silver is great because it's resistant to tarnish and rusting. It is also known as "German Silver" - it's an alloy consisting of 65% copper, 18% nickel and 17% zinc.

The tags pictured measure approximately 1 inch (2.4cm) wide, 1.5 inches/5.6 cm long. On this tag size I can fit up to 2 lines of text.

--Text for the tag (capital letters A-Z, numbers 0-9 and some punctuation symbols)

--Any decorative symbols -- Choose from star, heart, plant, circle, flower, diamonds, paw print, paisley, om symbol, lightning bolt, sun, evergreen, lotus, spiral, baseball, tiny star, tiny asterisk, maple leaf

--Do you want a completely shiny finish or an oxidized finish? The oxidized finish makes the letters easier to read, but it's your choice if you want to be subtle like a ninja :).

--Do you need a split ring to use as a keyring, or a jump ring if you're going to wear it as a pendant, or just two holes drilled to attach to your shoelace?
