Crassula tetragona - Miniature Pine Tree Succulent

Description

A succulent glabrous shrub native to South Africa. The upright stems with tree-like habit will reach about 2 feet tall with an equal spread. The opposite, dark green leaves are awl-shaped and will reach up to 1.50 inches long. The plants have been used in dish gardens for their pine-like appearance. They are of easy culture and hardy in the landscape in USDA zones 9-11.

Blooming: In the greenhouse, the plants bloom in the spring with very small white blooms. Individual blooms are 1/8 inch long. They are quite showy when in bloom.

Culture: Crassula tetragona need full sun to light shade with a well-drained soil mix. This plant is fairly slow growing and do not need to be re-potted very often. When grown in the landscape, the plants are hardy down to 28°F (-4°C).

This plant is suitable for growing indoors. Drought-tolerant; suitable for xeriscaping. Suitable for growing in containers.

A very easy to grow plant, great for beginners. Soon makes a small rounded bush with little pruning needed. Easily propagated from a leaf laid on potting soil or a cutting planted in a pot or in a warm garden.

Excellent for windowsills or as color accent in rock garden or dish garden. Will be shipped bareroot. This is a gorgeous, healthy specimen. This plant is well rooted and ready for a new home.
