Beautiful soft, sturdy saddle colored deerskin was used for the body of this unique pouch. The front is accented in ivory and deep red deerskin and all handstitched with black deerskin, using Spanish Edge Lacing.

Symbolizing a Native American mandela, red deerskin holds a large 1 1/8" in diameter bone round, with antique Venetian glass disc, oyster shell heisi and seed. The four sides of the mandela hold antique striped Venetians, coral glass and antique black Maasai beads. Below hang five strands of beads with aditional Maasai and coral glass plus 1" long pieces of Elk Bone, that I've cut, sanded and buffed. The double drawstrings will keep the bag closed by sliding the two Mescal Seed beads, in deep cranberry color. The ends of the strands hold antique Ostrich Egg Shell beads and antique Venetian French Trail trade beads (which are very gnarly in condition).

The bag measures 4 3/4" across X 6 1/4" long. The inside measurements are 4 1/4" across X 5 1/2" long. A braided strap can be added for an additional $20. Signed and dated by the artist.
