Decorative Hand Painted Box

I've had a few of these paper mache boxes sitting around for a bit and actually have worked on this one for a couple months, off and on. I absolutely love pink and feminine looking decor. And, I love cottage roses. This little box was inspired by those very things!

The box originally had the raised areas on the side. I accented them with a background of white then gold metallic. This lies on a baby pink background. The lid and interior of the box was painted with the same baby pink. Then, I painted some accent stripes on the sides of the lid in the gold and white along with the pink. For the top, I painted some of my pink cottage roses and rosebuds along with some greenery and gold metallic dots around the perimeter.

The ending result was something so sweet and the more I look at it, the more I love it! So sweet and romantic!! This box measures about 2 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches wide and if I put a tape measure around the box, it measures about 9 1/2 inches. It would be a great size to use as a keepsake box for special vintage heirloom jewelry. It could also be used for candies tucked inside or so many other possibilities!!
