Behind Silo No.5 / Original Linocut Print
Description
This is the first print in a series that I’m currently working on about the city that I’m currently living in, Montreal. It isn’t an especially monumental city, but its natural features (the mountain and the river), its diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods, and the traces of its industrial past make it a fantastic city to explore. Its friendly and laidback atmosphere also makes it a great place to live. This print shows the view of the towers and ramping aerial bridges behind silo #5, as seen from beneath the Bonaventure expressway. The immense concrete grain silos visible to the left were once stocked with grain arriving from the Canadian prairies awaiting shipment by boat. The towers, ramps and bridges make me think of the ultimate treehouse, every child’s dream.
This print is sold without a frame or matboard, to reduce shipping costs, and to make it as affordable as possible. If you would like to order a matboard cut to size for this print, simply convo me and I will alter the listing. A white bevel-cut matboard costs an additional $10.
The last photo is of "Behind Silo No. 5" framed in an Ikea RIBA frame (not included).
