Jewel Bug Earrings - Wings green blue

Description

Real jewel toned beetle wing earrings fit for an Amazon princess. To honor these marvels of nature I wanted to design a piece that was feminine yet evocative of the insects they came from. I selected two matching beetle wings and ground them down and shaped them in my studio. 14k gold filled wire was used to attach a cluster of glittery ink black spinel gemstones that look just like delicate beetle legs. This cute creation is suspended from fine 14k gold filled chain.

These ethereal jewels make a lovely tinkling noise when you walk and are bound to attract attention. They are a great ice breaker at parties, and suitable for anyone who prefers to walk on the wild side. ;)

***Please note*** The earrings pictured in this listing were recently sold. (They're very popular offline.) I have made another pair that are almost identical, and this is what you will get with this listing. Because of the nature of these wings (they're real) it's hard to make the earrings exactly the same each time. Placement of the holes might differ a tad, or I might use a slight larger or smaller jump ring in the project. Rest assured that they'll be lovely though. You probably won't notice a difference but I like to be totally upfront about what you're getting. If you'd like a photo I'd be more than happy to take some pictures for you.
