Mapula Embroidery: "Village Scene" 17" x 17"Unfinished edges - it can be sewn into a wall hanging, or cushion cover or whatever.
Mapula, which means “Mother of Rain”, is an embroidery group is based in the Winterveld in Gauteng, South Africa. Their work is collected world-wide and their embroideries are a social record of what they observe in their culture. This is the primary source of income for these women who live in a poverty-stricken part of S. Africa.
