Turn Your Life Around, St. Paul

Need to head your life in a completely different direction? Here's St. Paul, that patron saint of the 180 degree turn.

You may recall that "Paul" was "Saul" a rabid persecutor of Christians, so rabid he thought they should all be killed. He was present at the stoning of the first martyr, St. Stephen.

But Jesus knocked him off his horse one day while he was on his way to arrest a bunch of people. He ran around blind for three days and the rest is history.

St. Paul spent the rest of his life preaching, arguing with St. Peter and being persecuted himself. Traveling with a group of well known saints (like Luke, "the Gospel According to Luke...that Luke... who was St. Paul's personal physician), he was run out of town, beaten, imprisoned for long periods of time and nearly stoned to death on several occasions. He was finally beheaded in around 67 AD in Rome. Tradition holds that St. Peter and St. Paul were actually martyred on the same day...like Thomas Jefferson and John Adams (except they weren't martyrs).

On the medal he is holding the Good Book, to which he was a major contributor and a sword, the instrument of his death. Doesn't the medal look just like his picture?
