Everybody is going green and saving the earth these days. We’re all trying to use less plastic and reuse more things in our lives. Well, here’s another way for you to reduce, reuse and recycle.

You are looking at my new, big, roomy shopping bag pattern, which includes a FREE bonus pattern for the smaller bag. I like to use mine for my produce at the grocery store, but you could use them for your regular shopping, or even as a book bag. I use the smaller bags for tomatoes and other small or fragile veggies like apples and ripe avocados. The cotton yarn is great for absorbing the water that most grocery stores spray on the veggies. Just pile them all in to the bag.

Both bags are made with cotton yarn and size J and I crochet hooks and are crocheted in the round using SC, HDC and DC. Finished bags measure about 17 inches across the bottom, are 6 inches high and about 4 inches wide across the bottom (they are wider at the top.)
