Handmade Cuff Links - Orange Wood - OOAK

Description

This is a handmade pair of cuff links made by AmericanCarver.

The wood is 5/8" in diameter and 3/16" thick.

The wood is from a Navel Orange Tree. It has been dried for 1 year in my garage. I have peeled off the outer bark to expose the interesting color of the wood. The grain pattern and color are very nice.

These pieces of wood undergo extensive sanding with various grades of sandpaper, from 100 to 320 grit. After they are smooth as glass, I hand polish them with many coats of orange oil, bees wax and carnuba wax. This brings out the grain and creates a protective finish that is moisture resistant. It also creates a very smooth finish. The back surfaces are finished just as well as the fronts so that they will not scratch or damage your expensive shirts and silk ties. You will feel the quality in this set of accessories for men.

All of my hair forks, bangles and other accessories are made from re-claimed wood. I get all of my supplies from the “burn pile” at a local wood mill. Most of this wood was used to make entry doors, cabinets, entertainment centers and other custom furniture for expensive estate homes and country clubs. I love to see something from the trash bin turn into something so beautiful and functional.
