Otedama in Swirls, Batik and Upcycled Fabric (Set of 3)

Description

Otedama is a traditional Japanese juggling and jacks type game played with bean bags. Otedama sets make great office and desk toys for when you need a break!

This set is in earth toned greens - avocado, pine and sage, with swirl and batik patterns. The darkest colored fabric is upcycled from a fabulous skirt from India that was just too small for me.

Included are bean bags for the jacks type of otedama with 2 small and 1 large bean bag. I'll tuck a set of instructions in for the jacks type game.

I made small sets like this for my child's class, and found making the sets and playing the game quite addictive. After playing the jacks version, I found that it helped to have the larger bean bag a different color or pattern. I hope this also helps you as you play.

Traditionally the bean bags are filled with beans, but I used stone in case the bags got wet. (Case in point - I gave a set to a friend. The first time trying her set, she plopped a bean bag into her drink. So to make sure the bags last and can be gently washed, I used a natural material that could get wet.)
