Chaucer tried his hand a writing proverbs once... He only finished two. So, in honor of his shortest [known] work, I've named one of my tiniest journal thus.

This one of a kind little delight has a soft, brown scrap leather cover, which wraps around the precious pages and secures with a white deerskin strap. The paper comes from scraps that are left after cutting sheets for some of my other journals, thus they are not completely even; but this only adds to the handmade charm! The pages are arranged in three signatures and stitched into the cover with the Medeival long stitch. The journal comes with a keychain, but it can easily be attatched to a necklace (not included)

In Geoffrey Chaucer's own words:

What shul thise clothes thus manyfold, [What shall these clothes thus manifold,]
Lo! this hote somers day? - [Lo! this hot summer's day?]
After greet hete cometh cold; [After great heat comes cold;]
No man caste his pilche away. [No man cast his coat away.]

Ie. don't throw out what you don't need right now; you never know when you will need it later!

The Chaucer's Little Proverb journal is anxiously awaiting the poet or artist in you to fill its pages with your own genius. Or, you could fill it with notes, phone numbers, ideas, and sketches. The high quality paper can take graphite, ink, charcoal, and light watercolor (with a little buckling), as well as a myriad of other mediums, without bleeding through.

254 pages (128 sheets) of unlined, acid-free, 50 lb Strathmore drawing paper.
Approximately 2 x 1 1/2 inches in size and about 1/2 inch thick.
