“I See the Moon” Angel
Introducing my one of a kind original Angel doll I’ve named “Moon”. I am very proud of how she has turned out. I was inspired by a picture that is photographed here, titled “I see the Moon”.
Moon is 27” tall. She has a body made from aged osnaburg fabric. She has jointed elbows and knees so she sits nicely. I’ve also included a loop on her back so can be hung for display. I’ve given her a needle sculpted nose, and sculpted fingers. Her face has been hand painted, and her hair is made from lots hand dyed brown sheep’s wool that has been needle felted in place with a little bit of glue. I’ve attaches little pink bows to her hair.
Moon’s outer dress is made from 100% cotton fabric with a lovely rose print. I’ve attached hand gathered ruffles to her men. Vintage style lace trims her collar and sleeves. A pink polka dot ribbon accents her waist and collar. Moon’s under skirt is made from an antique cotton baby dress that I purchased. I’ve given Moon cotton pantaloons with a pink trim. Moon’s pink shoes have been painted and sanded then accented with pink ribbon.
Moon has quilted cotton wings that have been painted then stiffened.
I’ve attached a man in the moon to a dowel for this angel to hold. It has been painted, and then sprinkled with glitter. Ruffled tulle and pink ribbon decorate the base.
For the finishing touch, I’ve attached a glittery “mixed media” tag to her dress. The phrase reads “I see the moon and the moon sees me. God bless the moon, and God bless me”.
Moon is signed and dated by me, the artist.
