New Zealand vintage Early 60's Map Lover's EcoBangle(TM)

I am a proud member of the Trashion Team here on Etsy. I love to create beautiful pieces of one of a kind, wearable art from 98% recycled materials.

This is a companion piece to the New Zealand East Coast EcoBangle(TM). Buy them as a pair and receive 10% off the total price.

This EcoBangle(TM) features the parts of the West Coast and Central New Zealand from Okahukura all the way down to Mahapouri and Ohai. It includes locations like Lake Wanaka and Mt. Cook National Park, the Tasman Bay and Castlecliff. This section was cut from an early 1960's map published by the National Geographic Society.

I prepared the base by painting the inside and outer edge of the bangle a warm carmel tan and the outside Royal blue. I then wrapped it with the section of map. Next, I signed and dated the inside of the EcoBangle(TM.) Finally, I added several coats of polyurethane to provide durability.

This EcoBangle(TM) is for travelers and map lovers. When considering what area of a map to feature on a "Map Lover's EcoBangle(TM)" I am looking for visual interest in the topography, place names that engage my sense of curiosity, and great color combinations. This one has it all

Width of the bangle is 1.25”

Recycled content: heavy duty cardboard tubing, vintage map, excess paint from my painter’s pallet.

Other materials: polyurethane.
