Rosehip - mini Pedestal Pincushion

Pedestal pincushion. Victorian Inspired.

This 'mini' pedestal pincushion is beautiful way to keep your needles and pins in order!

This pincushion is a miniature version of my larger ones. It stands approx 9cm/3.5in high on a solid brass base, which has engraved detailing on it. The base is 4.5cm/1.5in across. The pincushion measures approx 5cm/2.5in in diameter .
The cushion itself is made with black fabric and is embellished with hand done Silk Ribbon Embroidery in pink and green. Small faux pearls and green beads are scattered through the motif, along with a single swarozski crystal. The look is finished with some black gimp. Despite the smaller size, these have just as much handwork and time in them as the larger pincushions I offer.
The silk ribbon is all hand-dyed by myself.

This pincushion is not only small and beautiful, but functional too. I attend conferences often (where I have plenty of time to stitch!!)and this little number fits nicely into my 'travel kit'.
It is also just as good as the larger versions of the pedestal pincushion. The cushion is above your work surface and easily accessible.

This piece would make a wonderful collectible as well.
