Vibrant vintage Carpet Bag

Description

Gorgeous vibrant vintage carpet bag. Covered with vertical bands of brightly colored geometric patterns, this bag is sure to get attention! The bag is made of a soft, chenille like woven fabric and is trimmed with sturdy navy blue leather along the front flap and has a matching adjustable navy blue leather strap. The bag converts from a handbag to a shoulder bag by adjusting length of the strap. The grommets, buckle, strap rings, twist lock clasp and feet on the bottom of the bag are all made of a gold tone metal. When opened, a large central compartment is revealed divided down the middle by a large zippered pouch. There is also a smaller zippered pocket along the back side to further secure smaller belongings. The interior is lined with a black vinyl, and there is a small oblong patch of taupe vinyl material covering the back side of the twist clasp. The bag is marked "John Romain 1-72" and has a lion crest above the signature. Aside from a bit of tarnishing to the gold tone metal hardware and a slight turning up of the interior base panel (from being in storage), this handbag seems to be very well made and is in excellent vintage condition!

The bag measures 11" tall (25" tall including the shoulder strap) by 12" wide, tapering to 10" wide at the top. The base measures 3.5" across, tapering to the top.
