frame may be either mahogany or walnut

part of the clipping on back states:

"AGE OF INNOCENCE | by Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792)
Sir Joshua Reynolds, one of the greatest of English portrait painters, can be considered the founder of the English school of painting. He worked with remarkable quickness, and it is estimated by some authorities that he painted between two and three thousand portraits. His career was one long series of successes, and he amassed a fortune painting portraits of the notables of his time.

The picture "Age of Innocence" illustrates Reynold's particular ability to paint children. His portraits of children are among his best-known works. The original painting hangs in the National Gallery of London."

this piece is signed in longhand on the reverse by the paint-by-number hobbyist:
"Painted By Margaret Brown In year April 2, 1970."

measurements: 18" x 22" {including frame} | 45.72 x 55.88 cm

condition: good/great vintage -- one area in the top left corner has what looks like a water spot. It's unclear if this paint blur was caused by mistake of the artist or over time. The frame is in good condition with small scratches mostly on the bottom. Minor flaws to the paper on the reverse. Please click on our photos to examine the piece larger and up close. the frame would be adorable, and quite shabby chic, if removed and painted a new, brighter color but we'll leave that decision up to your DIY sensibilities!
