Small decorated purses from the past inspired me to make this little pouch. You know those purses that were filled with ornaments and colors and combined different techniques.

I call this a memory bag. It's just the right size for you to store small gifts, little precious things, even a small booklet. The bag might be for the treasures you have or a gift for a special friend. Or maybe you enjoy a flair of history like me and need a reminder of that passion.

This version of memory bag is called Raphaela. It reminds me of the romantic paintings by Pre-Raphaelites in the end of 19th century. Those long haired women with their beautiful big eyes must have had these kind of purses decorated with silk ribbons. I can imagine the women walking in the garden, barefooted and feeling connected with nature.

Height from the bottom to the top edge: appr. 9 inch (24 cm)
Circumference: appr. 11,5 inch (29 cm)

The bag is knitted from japanese Noro wool and nylon blend. There are ribbon motifs that have been knitted using stranded knitting techniques.
The bag is lined with cotton fabric. There's also cotton fabric on the top where the string is attached. The string is knitted i-cord from wool and nylon blends.
The two ribbons decorating the purse are silk ribbons from Mokuba.
Both Noro and Mokuba are high quality brands.
