The Boy Problem Vintage Book

Description

This 1902 book enlightens us with the 'current' problems facing boys. While a very serious & educated read back in the early 1900's, we can now read it with a bit more insight and find bits of humor throughout.

My personal favorites...

"...calls attention to the candy stores as informal social centers which lead to the pool room, the saloon, the cheap show and the club room, and to "Recreation Clubs," where, a younger member reports, "they have kissing all through pleasure time, and use slang language. And, the members are from 14-18 and they don't behave nicely between young ladies."

"Whenever possible, girls and boys should be organized separately. Before adolescence they are not interested in the same things nor in each other. The boys should have male or at least virile leaders."
