Blessingway Bead

Full Moon Mama and her little moonbeams.

A Blessingway is a ritual for the expectant mother. It is a celebration honouring the next phase in a woman’s life, from pregnancy to birthing and bringing new life into the world.

Every Blessingway is unique, often rituals are performed and symbolic gifts are given. One of which is the stringing of special beads that each guest has brought along for the mother. Each bead can represent the intentions and wishes for the woman during birth and strung to make a special necklace or bracelet that the pregnant woman can have with her during birthing.

I have handmade these little Blessingway beads from sterling silver. I have hand cut the sterling discs and soldered the full moon to them. I have then added the moonstone beads, little moonbeams, representing the woman’s children and her little baby about to enter the world.

Each bead is 1/2 inch (13mm) diameter.

This listing is for one bead. The number of moonbeams is for each child in the family including the little baby on the way. Please specify how many moonbeams you would like, I’m also able to make beads for the fourth or fifth born child.
