1970s Vintage Boho HANDMADE CarpetBag Shoulder Purse - Perfect for Autumn

This spectacular handbag just OOOOZES coolness at it's finest!

Absolutely Bohemian Chic & Totally 70's classic coloring!

This never used, no wear & tear shoulder bag is handmade and delicious ---simply a "must have" for any Flower Child!

Made of a shiny felted velveteen (so common with 1970's mod furniture) featuring a floral design with retro coloring in chocolate brown, burnt orange, wheat tan & beige, even white & silvery gray!

Two outside open pockets adorn. One is featured underneath the large opening flap, measuring 7-1/2" x 3". The other is on the opposite side of the bag's opening, and generous proportions measure 8" x 5" (perfect for notepads, cellphones, iPods, etc!)

The inside is just as cool with a geometrically diamond pattern woven into thick chocolate brown velour. So plush!

Three inner large pockets are featured, the middle being the largest, extending to the bottom of the bag.

The other two are still full-sized, on either side of the bag---perfect for easier-to-find smaller items, or even papers, checkbooks, etc. Plenty of room for cosmetic bags!

The middle pocket is inner-lined with the same geometrically diamond patterned fabric as on the inside of the opening flap. Lining the sides of the 2 large-sized pockets is a beige-colored heavier-duty, yet lightweight canvas.

So well-made, this purse can be filled up due to it's expanding dimensions, yet as well, be just as smashing lightly filled too! Great stitching!

Laying flat, this shoulder bag measures 11-3/4" in width by 11" in height, with a very cool overlapping flap closure that measures 10" in length itself.

Totally Boho hip-length matching fabric straps are attached, measuring a total length of 38-39".

There is absolutely no hardware on this bag---it's 100% fabric. With my crafty nature, I can totally imagine adding some really mod buttons or creative closures to it's opening flap & outside pockets, though it's not needed!

So why do I call it a "CarpetBag"??????

I love carpet bags! Not only were they traditionally made from recycled fabric remnants, (and therefore quite "green"!)---they also were durable, fashionable, and have quite a history...even in politics! (See image #5 with inside pockets of this awesome bag!!!!)

Long before Samsonite, the carpetbag was valued for its durability, for it was made of two sturdy pieces of carpet sewn together to which handles were attached.
