Ascension Necklace

This piece is inspired by those who rise up in the face of adversity and have inspired people around them to do the same.

Like the "Creature Necklace" and other pieces in the Miscellaneous & Mysterious Collection, the design for the Ascension necklace was a result of hours of sketching. I dissected the drawing into two main shapes and used these as templates for the metal construction. Two wing-like shapes were cut from sterling silver sheet, soldered together, and hammered around a gentle curve for added dimension. One surface is oxidized jet black while the other was brought to a high polish for the ultimate contrast.
