Mother of Pearl Experiment
Description
Another experimental necklace from my Coney Island beach combing trip.This necklace starts with a beautifully iridescent (wish the camera could capture it better) and slightly translucent off-round disk of mother of pearl measuring roughly at 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches.
The "coin" has been punctured very carefully in 5 places: the top for the sterling silver bale, and the four lower with sterling silver hoops ending in four polished chips of lapis lazuli, making the overall length of the pendant right at 2 inches.
This pendant is hung on a 20" silver-colored chain. (I'm sorry, I cannot attest to the exact composition of the chain, as it was my first time at the store buying chain, and the clerks did not so much speak English as just nod and point a lot. As the chain only cost me $3.00, I'm assuming it is not sterling.)
