Plum Delight Dichroic Pendant

Description

This dichroic pendant measures 29m x 30m or about 1 1/8 x 1 1/4 inch excluding the silver plated bail. The depth to this pendant is awesome, the more you look at it, the more you will see. Shades of plum, copper and lime with rivers of turquoise remind me of a rich tapesty. This brand of dichroic glass splinters in the heat of the kiln, as you look into the glass you will see tiny fractures that catch and play with the light.

Each pendant is a small piece of art lovingly created in my home studio. Once the piece is designed, it is fired in the kiln upwards of 1450 degrees and slowly annealed. It is then shaped on a diamond grinder and returned to the kiln to be fire-polished. A second firing strengthens the piece. Most pieces have at least three layers of glass.

The Dichroic glass used in this pendant is difficult to photograph, you cannot truly appreciate the beauty until you see it in person.
