Pipyr - ORIGINAL - ACEO - Flameworked Glass and Encaustics and found objects assemblage

ACEO (2.5"x3.5")

Encaustic (beeswax, resins, and pigment) on birch plywood panel.

Tiny flameworked glass eye and sculptures (also created by me).

Mouse bone, metal shavings, gauze

This is one of my new ACEO pieces. The size is 2.5"x3.5". I am in the process of experimenting on these little ACEO sized panels and have been happy with the way they have been coming out, so I thought I would post them here :) Since these are experimental pieces, they are each very unique.

The background for this piece is encaustic (a medium consisting of beeswax, damar resin, and powdered pigment) on a high grade birch plywood panel. The panel is 3mm deep and the edges have been painted so there is no need for a frame. It will come with a hanger on the back for immediate enjoyment. ;)

If you have never seen an encaustic painting before, there are a couple things I should tell you. Encaustic paintings have a very luminous quality and a very alluring surface. The most common question most people ask is "will it melt?" There is a popular saying among encaustic artists about that... Wax melts at 150 degrees F. If the painting is melting in your house, your house is on fire!! As with all artwork, this piece should always be kept out of direct sunlight.

This ACEO will be signed, dated, titled, and all that good stuff on the back ;)

Please Note: Due to the nature of the wax, I need to use some common sense when I ship these pieces. If you are currently experiencing an extremely hot or cold time in your area, please get in touch with me so we can discuss the best option for shipping...whether it will be to wait or to ship via overnight mail.
