Each handmade paper heart comes with flower and/or herb seeds embedded inside.

Instead of throwing the hearts away and creating waste, they can be planted to grow.

Mount them to card stock and create your own plantable cards for a fraction of the cost of buying them already made.

I make the paper from 100% recycled, post-consumer paper like used office paper, junk mail, advertising fliers — you name it! I use seeds that I hand gather myself from plants I grow organically.

AVAILABLE COLORS:
white, butter yellow, beige, cream, butterscotch, pink, light green, blue, salmon, kiwi, lavender, and aqua

AVAILABLE SEEDS:

snapdragons, bachelor buttons, black-eyed susans, poppies, hollyhock, marigold, cosmos, lunaria, dianthus, flax

lavender, basil, chives, dill, oregano, mint

If you have a color preference or a seed preference (you can choose a mix of any or all of the above), just indicate which color and type of seed you'd like in the 'notes to seller' space when you check out.

If no preference is indicated, I will send a random assortment of hearts from the stock I have available at the time of your order.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
The paper sprouts easily and well using the method I recommend. You can see the sprouts growing right out of the paper in the photo at the right. Growing instructions are included.

Hearts are made out of 100% post-consumer content handmade paper that is made one sheet at a time using traditional papermaking techniques. They are then individually cut out of the paper.

PLANTING NOTE: You can grow the hearts with herb seeds indoors at any time of year. For best results, the hearts should be planted in the spring after the last winter frost.
