Cobalt Blue and Clear Iridescent Dragonfly Suncatcher

Description

This fun sparkly stained glass dragonfly suncatcher measures 5 1/2 inches diameter (14cm).

The dragonfly is crafted using clear iridescent wavy Waterglass with an iridescent clear glass glob and clear textured iridescent glass for the wings. Iridescent glass is highly reflective and gives off soft hues of pink/green/yellow. Very special at night under artificial light, almost mirror like.

The background is a textured cobalt blue glass.

All of the glass pieces except for the glob have been hand cut and assembled in the Tiffany method of copper foil and solder. The suncatcher has then been wrapped with lead came with a single loop attached and chain included for hanging. The metals (solder and lead) have been chemically darkened with black patina.
