Ivy Leaves journal

Description

This journal has been hand bound using a lovely, subtle sage green/grey book cloth. It has hard covers and an exposed spine, which makes a decorative feature showing the sewing thread when the book is closed.

The front cover features a paper print of my ivy leaves and winter trees design in subtle shades of greens, creams and browns. It has been further embellished by hand using gold painted accents.

Inside the covers are lined with Khadi paper and the spine cover has also been lined with hand made paper to which I have added some gold painted patterns. The first page has been printed with my owl in the oak design and has been made into an “Ex Libris” bookplate all ready to personalize.

The book measures approximately six and an eighth inches by four and a quarter inches. It has four sections, five signatures in each section, making a total of eighty pages. The pages are made of cream coloured Conqueror paper, which is the ideal medium for you to write on, and the construction of the book allows for the pages to open flat.

One more thing, the book has been lovingly stitched by hand using a lovely bees waxed linen thread, using a longstitch binding method, making the book nice and strong. I have left the pages untrimmed, as this is a hand made book, it has a torn “deckle” edge at the foot.
