Happy Mardi Gras…This assemblage is my tribute to New Orleans. I used an old Altoid tin and painted it copper and distressed it lightly to appear aged. This is a three section assemblage, the back is not worked. The front shows the tribute to New Orleans, a vintage map, and some fun Mardi Gras embellishments. Inside there is a street scene, Bourbon Street! A cut out from an old postcard, a vintage showgirl, and a horse pulling a carriage are on the street. The other side, is for Mardi Gras…This group of men are sitting on the streets edge as a parade passes, a piece of a postcard from 1910, and a small vintage child’s toy, adorn this side. The toy may have been one of the treasures thrown from the floats. There is a lot to see on this fun piece of art.
