Vintage Sterling Silver and Scrimshaw Ring
Description
This is an exquisitely lovely, unusual vintage ring in a size 7. It features a heavy cast silver setting and the band is marked Ster. on the inside. Within the top middle of this strongly textured setting is a piece of scrimshaw with a floral motif. Altogether it is a striking piece and I've never seen anything even similar to it. I could find no maker's mark but wouldn't be surprised if it were a custom-made ring. I have only the one.Added on Oct 30, 2009
