Description

This spring, while testing new glazes, I happened upon a technique that gave me a bird's egg shell glaze- much like a cardinal or mockingbird's egg, only a little brighter. With much encouragement from my friends, I started making egg-shaped vases and moved on to applying this glaze to bowls, plates, and cups. I just love how it looks- and feels! Some of the speckles have a rough, raised texture, some blend into the smooth glaze.

This bowl was thrown on the wheel, trimmed, bisque fired, glazed, and finished with my special egg-speckle technique before I fire them a final time. It measures 4.5" in diameter and 2" tall. It is food safe and just about right for an after-supper scoop of ice cream.



All Bridgman Pottery is food safe and made from high-fired porcelaneous stoneware and lead-free glazes. It is safe to use in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave.
