Repurposed Horse Feedbag Purse

We have lots of animals, one of them being a horse. Being as big as she is (upwards of 1300 lbs!!) you can imagine that she A LOT! All our animals' feed comes in these nifty woven plastic bags and since I'm the type of person who HATES to throw away anything useful, I decided to do something with all these awesome bags.... et voila! The feedbag purse was born!
This one was made from a timothy grass pellets bag. It has a picture of a tractor on it as well as little pics of other colorful feedbags. The front and back are 8.25" wide and 7.5" tall. The bag is 2" wide on the sides and has a hemp webbing strap that measures about 50" long. The inside is lined with a beige hemp/cotton lightweight woven cloth and has a pocket on the inside. There is a flap with a snap for a closure.
Super eco-chic and unique!!

****A few things to consider about this bag****

- This woven plastic fabric is a little awkward to work with and although I strive to make my items as asthetically pleasing as possible, there may be some "quirky" and "handmade" qualities to it. For example, the stitching isn't absolutely straight in some areas. But you can be sure that this doesn't affect the integrity of the construction nor is it something you can easily see unless you are looking for it. These minor flaws emphisize the uniqueness of each piece, it tells the world "This item is handmade!! Not mass produced for a department store!!" Be proud of the quirks!
- The really awesome thing about this fabric is that it is TOTALLY WEATHERPROOF!! I live in Oregon where the winters are extremely rainy so these purses have saved my valuables from being soaked many a time!
