Description
These Tanzanian mined, 4mm rounds of red sapphire display an incredibly amount of sparkle of very richly saturated color with magnificent clarity and precision faceting. They are red with a touch of orange without being the least bit “rusty”. We hand set these precious beauties into simple, 4-prong studs of fine quality sterling silver and will include both sterling silver butterfly catches and silicone stoppers. The total carat weight is approx. .70cts.At what point does a red sapphire qualify as a ruby (both being classified as corundum minerals)??? If the color is too pale, then it is a pink sapphire; too violet, again a sapphire. If they are mined as a sapphire then heated, as is the case with these, then they are still sapphires.
