2 Dram Bottles of Ink

Description

Writing has always been considered a somewhat mysterious and magical process. The invention of ink--and papyrus, parchment, and paper--made it possible to write quickly and easily on portable surfaces. The improvements over older methods, such as clay, or stone, helped to spread both reading and writing to more people, places, and purposes. Most of the early inks were herbal, although some were based on mineral, or animal products--not mine, might be kind of smelly :( :( Herbs also help provide, besides color, fragrance.

This is a specialty of mine! Handmade ink, made with natural herbs and pigments. Great for Calligraphy, and Chinese brush art. These inks are made by hand by me. They are packaged in a 2 dram dark amber glass vial, sealed on top with wax. Quick drying, non smearing, and you can use it on any type of paper. I currently have 3 different types of ink.

1. Bat's Blood Ink Now at one time this really had bat's blood in it, of course that is kind of gross so I use a modern "recipe" and I use alternative ingredients. It is a black color, but upon request in can be made a dark blue. It also has a cinnamon scent to it.

2. Dove's Blood Ink The same is true for this ink at one time it was made with dove's blood. DO NOT worry no doves were harmed--I have found alternative ingredients to make it. This is a red ink, but upon request it can be made a pink or even a purple. It has a rose scent with a little spice mixed in.

3. Dragon's Blood Ink This ink is NOT made from dragons, but from the Dragon Tree. This ink is a reddish copper color and is scented Dragon's Blood, which is a really neat scent.
