Blizzard in Sedona - Lampwork Glass Bead - Fire Lush
Description
Blizzard in SedonaLiving outside the Phoenix area makes it easy for me to get to Sedona often. When thinking of Sedona you might picture a Mars like landscape - towering red rocks, red soil and clear, sunny skies. WELL, one time I got to see a ferocious blizzard in Sedona. The giant red rocks were coated in gusty drifts of fluffy snow. It was actually quite fantastic, and perhaps a once in a lifetime experience. Luckily I still had a rogue ice-scraper in my trunk left over from my Chicago days... Driving home I saw pickup trucks lugging piles of snow - probably to families who had never seen snow before. I still wonder if it melted before they arrived home.
This lentil focal was made from a rare batch (oddlot) of a special striking glass from a glass producer called Double Helix. It produces some really gorgeous terracotta reds and oranges, and even a few hints of lavender. I only have a little of this glass left, and anything I make with it will truly be one of a kind.
Thank you for looking and I hope you like it!
