Alexandra's necklace

Description

This necklace is my entry for the August EBW challenge themed "First Ladies of Style" and is inspired by the always classy and elegant Queen Alexandra of my native Denmark, the queen consort of the late King Edward VII of England. Her jewelry was always spectacular, full of pearls, crystals and silver. I wanted to make something that reflected that splendour with a more modern twist.

The necklace is a combination of clear Czech crystals twisted and turning around a similar necklace of white pearls. The strap is made of silver seed beads, Czech clear crystals and AB white Swarovski crystals. The center piece is a gorgeous milkey opal multi faceted quartz, surrounded by pearls and Swarovski crystals. Finished with a opal tear drop and a magnetic silver clasp.
