Butterfly Glass Tile Pendant - TreeNymph

From my "Renewal" series of paintings, each canvas original butterfly has been reproduced as a 7/8 inch glass tile pendant. These butterflies were photographed at the Rainforest of University of Florida and Butterfly world in Fort lauderdale. Many were broken and tattered, and I think their frailty and the brevity of their life only adds to their beauty. The series celebrates them in all of their splendor, just as they are. The renewal series has been created to inspire others that are walking through circumstances to find their beauty, gifts and talents that they possess even in the midst of their brokenness and challenges.

I love my reversible slide and wanted to make sure these pendants would be versaTILE (haha) enough to hang on a snake slide if desired, or any other chain. So I used the medium sterling silver Aanraku Bails. Adhering them with a drop of solvent-free adhesive.
The back has been covered in a black pattern, and sealed with Diamond Glaze. DG is incredibly permanent, and I am still trying to find ways to get it off of my fingers, but The pendant is not guaranteed to be waterproof. So as much as I want to show off the butterflies, I will not recommend wearing them to the pool or beach.
