This AMAZING vintage book was published in 1967 and is full of retro-styled sewing and craft projects, with written explanations by Vivienne and illustrations by Mary Suzuki.

Projects include "tunics, tents, jiffy skirts, formal gowns, party pants, jewelry . . . children's fashions; and a variety of clever and decorative accessories for you home."

This books gives you a basic pattern that can be adapted into different styles - "Her 'popover' can be made as a blouse, a street length dress, an A-line shift or an evening gown. . . . however you adapt it, it is the easiest thing in the world to make."

Other projects like "Tablecloth Skirt," "Half-and-Half Skirt From Two Closet Worn Skirts", and "Little Bag to Match Anything From an Old or Inexpensive Bag," show you how to take one thing and turn it into another. (Eco friendly re-purposing!)

The craft area in the back is my favorite as it reminds me of things my grandma used to make - a bleach bottle piggy bank, hot pads from fabric covered bottle caps, and a strange duck-shaped pajama bag.

The quotes are from the intro on the dust jacket, and you can tell by the words that this is a very modish, very retro feeling book.

This book has 255 pages. The dust jacket has seem better days with folds, wear, and ripping, but the book itself is in really good shape with nice tight binding, and only minimal wear at the corners. Pages are clean, and starting to yellow just a bit. This book measures about 5.5. x 8.5 inches.
