This listing is for a custom "squiggle hat" made for you in micro-fiber colors you choose. It can also be drop-shipped for you if it's a gift. The photos provided are examples of other squiggle hat designs to give you an idea of the possible color combinations. All hats are one of a kind because I never use the exact same fiber combinations twice and every hat contains a minimum of 3 different types of fibers.

Customization options:

* You choose the colors for this hat.
* The "squiggle" portion of the hat can actually be either permanently attached or temporarily attached so the hat can also be worn without the squiggle. Just let me know at check out.
* You can also opt to include bamboo, alpaca or wool in your custom hat for an additional $10.

About the "Squiggle" Design:

"Squiggle" hats are one of my more popular hat designs in Austin, TX and have been purchased specifically for bike around town fund-raisers, ski trips, games, outdoor live music concerts and other outdoor special events. You name it - gotta have your crazy, fun, styling hat when you're tooling around Austin on your bike, traveling down the ski slopes, at the ball game, jamming at the live band capital of the world or otherwise celebrating something! This has also been a popular design with some PE teachers and coaches!

This particular hat design is completely original to me and called a "squiggle hat" due to the "squiggle" that hangs like a pony-tail from the top back of the hat. (Not too unlike the doodles on classroom notebooks!)

How Soft?

The texture of this hat is super cuddly soft to the touch! (The kind I have to stand extra guard over at shows so people don't just bury their face into it, tempting as it may be.) The materials utilized here are very soft and would certainly be comfortably appropriate for anyone under chemo care.

"Is this handmade?"
Anything crochet is always hand-made. Crochet is the last fiber art that cannot (yet) be replicated by any machine. All crochet in this store is individually and uniquely designed and hand-made by me.

The Making:

My squiggle hats are created with various crochet techniques and from a variety of microfibers from the US. There are no uncomfortable seams in this design. The main cap is completely sculpted as one piece, with the separate squiggle attached.

Perfect to show off your style during the holidays, on hikes and bikes, at the ice skating rink, at the ball game or on the ski slopes!

SIZE: One Size fits most heads ages 10 and up. Hats do have comfortable stretch and "thermal" affect and will "grow" with adult or child owners.

CARE: Hand or spot wash. Due to the micro-fibers, I always recommend spot clean first, though the yarns are hand washable. Believe it or not, these fibers hold up well, even in rain and snow and will dry well just fine on their own. But the texture will change a bit if completely soaked and agitated too much.

TOOLS: I firmly believe in the use of custom wood hooks and tools and a variety of texturing techniques and fibers from around the world. Hands down, it makes for a better quality product and experience.

As with all my pieces, this piece was freeformed into existence without patterns or notes, through a process I can Yarn Sculpting. Truly a OOAK (One Of A Kind) Pixie Worx! original.

Included is the original artist signed certificate of authenticity tag. All pieced are named and logged when sold.
