An ethically sourced* clear quartz crystal is cocooned in a circle of 19th century crochet, then encrusted with chips of opalite stone and a re-claimed bone bead.

Sewn to a salvaged sterling silver chain with wonderfully textured links, terminating in coral fragments from a vintage necklace, strung on handmade copper headpins.

Open, this delicate necklace measures 425mm long (nearly 17 inches).

* all crystals used in my work are either second hand (from my personal collection of my teenage years) or from a man who lives locally to me. He harvests small portions of crystal at a time on private properties, using the least invasive methods possible, only selling on enough to fund the next trip. You may buy my work safe in the knowledge that strip mines and slave labour are not supported! :)
