Contours Art Zine - free doodle stitch bookmark and fingerprint lino to carve

Contours is my very first art zine, all about the creative influence of doodles! I suddenly realised one day how a doodle that I used to, well, doodle all the time has actually become integral to pretty much all of my creative output; so 'Contours' is an overview of how my creative journey has evolved through various techniques (needlework, tapestry weaving, lino-cutting), an investigation into where this particular doodle has come from, and an invitation for you to explore your own doodling creativity, with lots of spaces for your own doodles.

Included alongside lots of text and colour photos, you will find a cross stitch chart, a freeform bargello needlepoint pattern, DIY doodle-cut-&-paste envelope seals, and if all that wasn't enough, there is also:

* a set of pre-gummed postcard labels to recycle scrap card: 2 printed with my doodles, 2 blank for your own, & 4 postcard reverse labels (which can double as envelope re-use labels, if you prefer)

* an envelope pocket inside the front cover containing a piece of self-adhesive softcut lino that has been hand-doodled with a 'fingerprint' pattern, for you to carve & print (each piece of lino is doodled with a unique pattern, similar to the one shown, but with variations every time – just like fingerprints!)

* a doodle-stitch bookmark kit: each bookmark comes with a hand-doodled pattern (so will also vary every time), stitch instructions, and a tassel of randomly selected 6-ply cotton to stitch the design. No-one else will ever have a bookmark just like yours!

This A5 (half-sized) zine is 24 pages long, with a simple hand-stitched binding, and is printed on a selection of recycled papers, including brown kraft, 100gsm sugar paper & gummed.
