The Great Collection

This is a collection of five bird blocks. The original images came from an old bird guidebook which I made a screenprint of, dyed with tea, and mounted on to individual painted red wood blocks. I finished them with a layer of beeswax and resin. Number 10 is a song sparrow, 13 is a bluebird, 22 is a cardinal, 25 is a horned lark, and 6 is a cow-bird. They measure in the neighborhood of 1 3/4" inches tall and wide (most a little taller than wide) and 3/4" deep. They sit nicely on any flat surface, but they are also installed with tiny sawtooth hangers so they could be hung on the wall. They look great as a set, individually, grouped into smaller sets...or part them out to your friends as tiny gifts.
