A6 Plum and Black Leather Journal

Description

This is an A6 plum and black leather journal. The cover is plum leather, reinforced with two black leather squares to reinforce the spine. It is sewn with black and plum coloured, waxed Irish linen thread. The back cover wraps around the side of the pages over the front cover. The closure is a black leather thonging.

The technique for this journal is based on medieval bookbinding techniques. One advantage of this style of binding is that the journal will lie completely flat when opened.

There are 160 pages (5 sections of 8 pages each) counting both sides of the paper. The paper is 110gsm weight, artist quality paper suitable for dry and wet mediums. The pages are straight cut and the pages have not been trimmed, this means that all pages are the same size.

The journal is A6 size - 10.5cm x 15cm or 4" x 5 3/4".
