After the bombing of Pearl Harbor the US was pretty terrified of the war crossing the ocean and having to fight the Axis powers on American soil. I found an amazing book from 1941 titled "What The Citizen Should Know About Civilian Defense" that prepared the average Joe how to handle the coming invasion. Aside from it being eerily contemporary, the illustrations by Arthur Smith are phenomenal!
