In the middle of this amazing chatoyant pietersite cabochon is a scene that I recall with great joy and wonder: the power and vitality of a desert rain shower.

For me it was welcoming my first thunderstorm in what seemed like years, miles from anywhere I knew in Hemet, California. I had been living in California for a few months and I was missing the east coast thunderstorm, as they happened with amazing regularity, bringing the summer to its knees and sending everyone to their porches and stoops to watch the light show.
In the arid desert I watched with glee as the thunderstorm rolled in and got it my car as the rain began. I drove home to Los Angeles with the storm at my heels and my hand out the window of my car.

A good rainstorm can make you feel as though your soil is renewed.

This particular rainstorm picture is framed by lovely sprouts.

This ring is a size 6 and cannot be resized.
