Mermaid Song-fish scale and sterling silver earrings

Yes you did read right-they are fish scales. They are from a Western Australian fish leather factory- http://www.mermaidleather.comthey are a by-product from tanning fish skins and have been used throughout the ages for items such as jewellery, car paint and today as the base sheen of some lipsticks. They are washed, tanned, dyed and dried.
I think they are gorgeous and so unique and here is the first of a great new range of jewelllery I am about to launch.
This pair has white and pink scales with a silver plate charm attached to sterling silver ear hooks.
Earrings measure 4.5cms-1.6" from the top of the hook to bottom of the white scale and are approx. 2.5cms-1" across at the widest part.
