In Good Time

Description

44" x 32" , includes frame.
First, I used a gel medium/varnish to cover the surface (glass) with layers of paper. Once that dried I used acrylic paint and gesso as a foundation. The majority of this painting is done with acrylic paint and pen. The birds and leaves are cut out copies of drawings I did on paper using a ball-point pen. Finally, I covered the entire painting with a gloss medium and varnish.

This is a painting about time and choices. Maybe it’s more about being overwhelmed... There’s always too much of one thing and not enough of another. It’ about getting older and those decisions they suddenly start serving on the side of your birthday cake instead of ice cream. It’s about wanting that ice cream anyway even though now it just makes you fat.
